The Supreme Court has relaxed the limitation period to file cases under all general and special laws across the country from March 14 until further orders

The order was passed by a bench of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and AS Bopanna in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country while hearing a plea by Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) seeking suspension of limitation period. SCAORA had requested the court to extend its March 23, 2020 order with regard to suspension of limitation period till further orders.

CBDT notifies Income-tax (11th Amendment) Rules, 2021.

The Amendment is brought under rule 2DB which deals with other conditions to be followed by the pension fund in which the pension fund is responsible for administering or investing the assets for meeting the statutory obligations and defined contributions of one or more funds or plans established for providing retirement, social security, employment, disability, death benefits or any similar compensation to the participants or beneficiaries of such funds or plans, as the case may be.

The Central Motor Vehicles Draft Amendment Rules, 2021.

The Ministry through this draft has substituted the term Special Purpose Vehicle under rule 2(zd) which means a motor vehicle so constructed or altered to serve as a specific transportation requirement of goods and/or passenger transport.
