The government of Uttar Pradesh exempts industries from almost all Labour Laws for 3 years
The State Government of Uttar Pradesh has exempted all establishments, Industries, and businesses from the scope of all but four labor laws for the next three years:
The Building and Other Construction Workers Act, Section 5 of Payment of Wages Act, Workmen Compensation Act, Bonded Labour Act.
The government of Karnataka directs businesses to submit COVID-19 self-declaration
The Industries which are eligible to operate in specified COVID-19 unaffected districts shall submit a self-declaration of adhering to the standard operating procedure provided to the concerned district industries center through the website www.kum.karnataka.gov.in before starting their unit.
CBDT issues clarification on Residential Status under Section 6 of Income Tax Act, 1961
In order to avoid genuine hardship, CBDT has issued an order u/s 119 vide this circular to exclude the period of stay in India of an NRI who could not leave India due to COVID-19 pandemic from his total period of stay in India.
CDSCO Extends the Validity of WHO GMP/ Certificates Of Pharmaceutical Products
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation vide its notification dated 1st May 2020 has extended validity of World Health Organization good manufacturing practices (WHO GMP) certificate of pharmaceutical product (CoPP) expiring from March to August 2020 by six months.
Additional guidelines for quarantine of returnees in private facilities
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued guidelines for quarantine of of contacts among returnees in private facilities. There are large number of facilities such as hotels, service apartments, lodges which remain unoccupied due to impact of COVID-19 on travel and tourism. These standard operating procedures are applicable both for facility quarantine/ facility isolation in hotels, service apartments, lodges etc.
