CBIC begins collection of district-wise data on origin of export goods

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in its press release dated 17th February 2020 discloses the measures to accomplish governments aim to turn districts into export hubs by capturing district-wise data on origin of export goods and to feed the same into national level trade policy making.

EPFO to conduct inquiries through e-court software

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation in its circular dated 17th February 2020 has informed that the EPFO e-court system shall be linked with the EPFO unified portal within next 2-3 months.The EPFO e-court management service was launched in May, 2017 conceptualizing paperless quasi-judicial proceedings in EPFO and to bring transparency and e-monitor Cases under Section 7A, 7B, 7C, 7Q, 14B.

MCA publishes the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order 2020

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide Notification dated 25.02.2020 has issued the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order 2020 in Supersession of Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order 2016. It shall come into force on the date of publication and shall govern the Audits from FY 2019-20 onwards.

SEBI reviews Margin Framework for Cash and Derivatives segments

The Securities and Exchange Board of India vide in its Circular dated 24th February 2020 has reviewed the margin framework for cash and derivatives segments, in order to bring more efficiency in the risk management system. This notification shall be effective from 1st May 2020. Under the margin framework for derivatives, SEBI has reviewed on volatility calculation, scan range on price and volatility, calendar spread charge, minimum charge on short option, extreme loss margin and margin on consolidated crystallized obligation.
