RBI releases directions on Repurchase transactions
The Reserve Bank of India on November 28th, 2019 has published The Repurchase Transactions (Repo) (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2018. The Amended direction shall be applicable to repurchase transactions (Repo), undertaken on recognized stock exchanges, electronic trading platforms (ETP) and Over-the-Counter (OTC) and it is not applicable to repo/ reverse repo transactions under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility and the Marginal Standing Facility, which would continue to be regulated as per the existing regulations
Ministry of Labour provides various Welfare Schemes for unorganized workers
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has clarified the social security benefits provided to unorganized sector workers, through Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State (I/C) for Labour and Employment in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. The government has enacted the Unorganized Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008 which includes Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM), Revised Integrated Housing Scheme (RIHS), etc.
